Sterilisation & Cross Infection
At Mullumbimby Dental Centre we follow a stringent cross infection protocol and use the very latest class B autoclaves to sterilise all our instruments. All of our staff are thoroughly trained in cross infection procedures and follow a strict protocol to protect both our staff and patients.

The fact that we are a large purpose built practice with four surgeries and seven dentists allows us to have a dedicated sterilisation room run by a specially trained dental nurse.
This complies with best practice guidelines as outlined by the Australian Dental Association.
Infection Control
All our dental treatment and services are performed using strict infection control measures to prevent the spread of diseases and infections. These include but are not limited to;
Wearing disposable gloves and changing them between each patient.
Wearing face masks.
Wearing protective eyewear.
Using steam autoclave to sterilise all non disposable instruments.
Using disposable products when available eg needles, suction tubes etc
Meticulously wiping down the treatment room before and after every patient with a specialised dental disinfectant that kills viruses and spores.
Carefully discarding all disposables to minimize human contact.
Every member of our team is committed to rigorously follow the above precautions to ensure your protection from bacterial and viral infections.
You can be assured of your protection during your visit to our dental practice.
