Don’t hide your smile because you’re unhappy with its colour; we offer different teeth whitening products

Different teeth whitening products

Over time it’s natural for teeth to lose their whiteness.

Certain foods, drinking coffee and red wine all takes its toll on the whiteness of your smile and will inevitably lead to some discolouration.

A brighter, whiter smile will enhance your appearance and you can turn back the clock on your smile to bring back that pearly white glow. Teeth whitening can lighten teeth and helps remove stains and discolouration through a number of methods. These include in-chair whitening treatments, which are applied by our dental professional in our practice, take-home treatments that are supplied by your dentist, and over-the-counter treatments which can be bought at your local chemist or supermarket.

Teeth whitening at home ($260)

Our take-home teeth whitening kits let you perform the treatment in the comfort of your own home and at your own convenience. It is important to note that teeth whitening products should always be administered by a professional. It is recommended that you see your dentist before undergoing any whitening treatment, as they can assess your discolouration and prescribe you with the whitening treatment that suits you best.

Store-bought teeth whitening treatments can actually compromise your smile and dental health. Our professionals have undergone years of training and can enhance your smile without endangering it. Dentists can also provide more intense whitening products than those available over the counter. This means a more effective teeth whitening treatment and better results, while your gums and tongue will be kept safe.

In chair whitening in our practice ($500 includes take home kit)

We also offer an advanced, in-chair teeth whitening procedure so that you can achieve a brighter smile in a short one-hour appointment. Unlike the take-home kit, our dentists perform every aspect of the process which means no fuss for you. The process is quick and follows these steps:

  1. Your soft tissues, including your gums, are protected with isolation materials.
  2. After 3×15 -minute applications over a one-hour period, your treatment is complete and you will now have a much whiter smile.
  3. You will also be give a take home kit at no extra charge to use to top up your smile at home in future

A whitening shade guide is used when whitening treatment begins, measuring the colour of the teeth and the effectiveness of the treatment.

Are there risks involved?

When you go through professional teeth whitening, it is unlikely to cause any serious side effects. You may notice some sensitivity for a short while after treatment and gum irritation may also occur for a short while. It is recommended that women do not undergo whitening treatment while pregnant or nursing.

The effects of whitening treatments can vary depending on your lifestyle, but generally last about 2 years.  To maintain your brighter shade, you need to occasionally repeat the home treatment to top up the whiteness.
